00s Music Video from Buenos Aires Avant-Garde Artist; Catnapp

Catnapp reveals her sophomore album “TRUST”, to be released this May. Today ahead of the album announcement Catnapp delivers the first single, ’Time On Me’ alongside an unapologetic music video.

Catnapp, originally from Buenos Aires and now Berlin-based, released her highly renowned debut album “Break” in 2019. It included several songs that were also spotlighted in the Emmy-award winning Netflix hit series “Unorthodox,” in which Catnapp also appeared, propelling her to global fame.

’Time On Me’ is the first instalment from the upcoming LP and transcends listeners into Catnapp’s world of GenZ hyper-pop. The accompanying music video highlights Catnapp through a mixed media setup, combining a high definition world with VHS, analogue VFX and thermal imagery – sending us in a time-portal back to the early 00s.

The upcoming “TRUST” album breaks down genre barriers, capturing high-octane bits of hip-hop, futuristic pop hooks, R&B, rave, and even numetal. It features multiple collaborations, including two tracks from Modeselektor, Argentinian artists O.L.I.V.I.A. and Methone, American rapper John Debt, French trance maven Aamourocean (half of Ascendant Vierge), and Catnapp Catnapp also sings in her home tongue for the first time on the record.

Trust is a sign of fortitude. The last two years have been difficult for almost everyone, and while it would have been simple for Catnapp to let her sentiments of despair permeate her creative process, she refused to give in to the gloom. The artist was determined to create something bright, vibrant, and uplifting, and nothing, not even a worldwide disaster, would dissuade her from rousing people to the dancing.

The LP arrives at a time when attention spans are short, distractions are frequent, multitasking has become the norm, and almost the entire history of music is now available at the touch of a button.

It’s a lot to take in, but owing to Catnapp and her varied musical skills, Trust seems more like a high-powered energy boost than another must-do item.
