If you’ve clicked on this particular feature, you’ll probably appreciate the cosmic play that led me to find out about ‘ENTHEON’, a psychedelic exhibition by two god-tier artists, Alex and Allyson Grey, coming to London this July. Earlier this evening, after shedding a tear over their now sold-out ‘Flesh of The Gods’ blanket (that I’ve been eyeing up since February but have been too broke to buy), I found myself gagging to see their work up close, a quick google led me to discover that the New-York-based duo are bringing it to the UK for the first time ever next month, right down the road from me in Canary Wharf (what are the odds?)
Described as “An Immersive Journey into the Realms of Humanity and Spirituality Through Visionary Art” the exhibition will transport visitors through three rooms and three trippy installations, each designed to engage the senses and transport your brain to the ethereal through soundscapes, animation, projection and colour exploring the interconnectedness of the physical and spiritual worlds, offering us the perfect setting to explore consciousness, perception, and the human spirit.
Each room will invite individuals to enter the depths of their consciousness and perceive the world through a mystical lens, stepping out of three-dimensional reality and into the metaphysical. If, like myself, the idea of waiting two months to peel back the curtain into the metaphysical with the help of art and technology has you tweaking, here’s a glimpse into what we can expect…
‘Entheon: A Place to Discover the Creator Within’
A 360-degree immersive experience guiding visitors on a journey through Entheon’s godly faces, encouraging exploration of inner creativity.
‘Progress of The Soul’
Set within a mirrored room, this space draws on the mesmerising paintings of Alex Grey and Allyson Grey, transforming their art into a dynamic experience through stunning animation and CG adaptations. Deep dive into the Greys’ visionary minds, where the reflections and animations merge to create a labyrinth of visual and spiritual exploration.
‘Sacred Mirrors’
A pivotal exhibit that celebrates Alex Grey’s renowned series meticulously depicting the human body and spirit. Enhanced with animated projections, the Sacred Mirrors uses art to dissect the layers of body, mind, and soul, offering profound insights into the complex beauty of human existence and our connection to the divine.
‘Steeple Head’
A serene meditation garden, featuring a statue of Alex Grey’s ‘Steeple Head,’ is enhanced by a captivating projection mapping exhibit. This tranquil space utilises advanced audiovisual techniques to create a profound contemplative experience.
‘Secret Writing’
This installation brings Allyson Grey’s Secret Writing to life, complemented by art performances. This experience engages viewers in a journey of personal and collective discovery.
The exhibition is open from June 14th to July 31st, and tickets can be purchased here.
