On Saturday, June 8, we saw the Berlin-hailing duo DJ HEARTSTRING at The Cause.
DJ HEARTSTRING returned to London a few weekends ago with their Teenage Dreams party, bringing their upbeat club meets trance vibe. Over the course of more than 12 hours, DJ HEARTSTRING welcomed friends and mainstays such as Effy, Lola So, Memphis LK, Sam Girling, and Tommy Holohan, spinning a variety of dance music, from house to electro.
In the heart of East London’s vibrant nightlife scene, The Cause stands out as a beacon of innovation and inclusivity. On a recent Saturday night, the venue was transformed into a euphoric haven as DJ Heartstring took to the decks, delivering a set that will be remembered for years to come.
We addressed London’s skyline and cable cars as we danced until dusk, swaying to unheard-of energy and sounds. Not only did we almost ever see a soul using their phones, but the audience was impeccably genuine, adding to the blessedness of the occasion. If you haven’t already been to The Cause the venue boasts multiple rooms and outdoor areas, allowing for diverse events and experiences. It’s industrial aesthetic contributes to a unique atmosphere that distinguishes it from more traditional venues. The venue not only provides a platform for local DJ’s, musicians, and artists, The Cause prides itself on being an inclusive space, welcoming people from diverse backgrounds and communities.
What sets DJ Heartstring apart is their ability to traverse musical genres effortlessly. Their set was a masterclass in genre-blending, with tracks that wove together elements of house, techno, trance, and even hints of drum and bass. The transitions were flawless, keeping the energy high and the crowd engaged.
Beyond the beats and basslines, DJ Heartstring’s music resonates on an emotional level. Their set was infused with tracks that evoked feelings of joy, nostalgia, and unity. The crowd was not just dancing; they were experiencing a shared journey, each track a chapter in a story that DJ Heartstring was telling.
As we managed to sway our way through the crowd (after about every person was stopping and complimenting my ciggie earrings) we found a spot where we could let our minds leave the dancefloor. It’s always surreal to be in such a environment and head space while raving. Can’t wait for the next Teenage dream party.
