A Night With Grace Dahl at Fabric London

On May 3rd, I had the sickest opportunity to go and see Grace Dahl’s debut set at London’s iconic club Fabric, and I also managed to get in a cheeky interview with Grace pre-Fabric set for you lot! Over here at Broke, we are huge fans of Grace’s sound and style. Establishing herself in Amsterdam’s rave culture, Grace is quickly becoming a powerful techno force in the scene. Even before seeing her live, her fast-paced sound and hard-hitting sets have made her music instantly distinctive. On the cusp of a breakout moment, Grace is truly shaping her sound through performances at major venues, such as Berghain, and the set that got us hooked was her recent Boiler Room show in Lisbon.

On the Saturday, we didn’t expect to have a near-religious experience before 1 am. We arrived around midnight to see Grace open up room 1. While getting our IDS checked and stickers put on our phones, you could hear the vibrations of fast, punchy techno beats. While walking through fabric’s maze, we finally arrived at our destination. From the first step we took into the tech haven, Grace had the room by the throat. Bouncy, high-BPM, with enough warp and distortion to make our bodies shake. The lighting matched the pace: strobes slicing through the thick haze, the moments of blackout tension before everyone snapped back into dancing.

Grace opened her set with no intention of slowing down. Grace was fully locked in, you could feel the room falling in sync, pulling us into her sound. With Fabric’s no-phone policy, that connection hit harder. No distractions. No crowd filming the moment — just being in it.

The crowd was wild, there was a collective of finance bros bouncing like they’ve just hit their KPI, the gays and the girls running the floor, and a huge group of guys we met from Amsterdam who flew in just to see Grace’s set!. And honestly? We got it. Grace didn’t just open the room—she made it hers.

Getting to know Grace before her set added a whole other layer to the night, to sit across from them and understand her vision, sound, and how she wants her music to make people feel. When speaking to Grace, you can tell she thinks deeply about connection, not just through BPMS or track selection, but through presence, energy, and intention, which, seeing her behind the decks, she built a world and let us step into it. And once you’ve heard her talk about it, you feel the set differently. You don’t just dance to it — you get it.

Cutting to the end of the night: We were left feeling sweaty, euphoric, and genuinely unable to find the exit. It took a good 20 minutes of wandering, asking a lot of drunk strangers, and contemplating whether we now live at Fabric…no complaining, if Grace will be performing there for eternity.
