Adam Frost SS24: ‘Art is Abundance’ Redefines Fashion

In a world where fashion often speaks louder than words, designer Adam Frost is making headlines with his latest offering, the SS24 collection titled ‘Art is Abundance.’ While some of us may be counting pennies, Adam’s creations are a testament to the idea that we are visually rich.

From gender-fluid styles to cutting-edge digital printing techniques, ‘Art is Abundance’ is a testament to Adam’s relentless pursuit of innovation in the fashion industry. The collection boasts a striking PVC power-shoulder coat and impeccably tailored separates, setting a strong tone for the season.

What truly stands out in this collection is the brands bold foray into new mediums. The ‘Mania Faces’ print, a fusion of the designer’s iconic face motifs and lyrical scribbles from his new track, is splashed across garments, creating an artistic fusion that tantalizes the senses.

“Spent all day in bed, alone on my phone, if you drain the brain it will drive you insane,” says Adam, encapsulating the essence of ‘Art is Abundance’ in his lyrics.

Mental health, a recurring theme in Adam’s work, takes centre stage once again. His creative outlet for depression is art, and it flows abundantly through his designs. The silver lining of his struggles shines brightly in his creations.

Amy Winehouse serves as a poignant muse for the collection, with hair higher than the sky and vibrant co-ords paying homage to the iconic artist. Delving deeper, there are subtle references to historical figures like Queen Elizabeth I, modern-day visionaries like Cindy Sherman, and the indomitable Grace Jones. Power-shapes and opulent gold jewels, designed in collaboration with Era of Mystique, add an exquisite touch to the ensemble.

SS24 takes a new turn with the introduction of casual, wearable silhouettes. Bowling shirts, tees, and accessories crafted in collaboration with London streetwear store Imprint add versatility to the collection. But, in true Adam Frost fashion, the casual styles are juxtaposed with couture-inspired pieces that dazzle.

This season, he teams up with multi-disciplinary artist Olivia Strange to create a PVC and plaster dress adorned with witch-like hand sculptures on each shoulder. Aptly titled ‘It Takes Courage to enjoy it, the hardcore and the gentle,’ inspired by Björk’s track ‘big time sensuality,’ it explores finding moments of pleasure amidst chaos and pain. Notable conceptual looks include the gold sequin ‘Bobble Dress,’ which playfully challenges the conventional idea of ‘couture,’ reshaping the wearer’s silhouette and form.

Adam’s partnership with Schwarzkopf Pro for the show underscores his belief that “the hair is the hat.” Every look is meticulously styled to exude ‘abundance,’ proving that in the world of fashion, nothing is ever enough.

In ‘Art is Abundance’ for SS24, Adam Frost reaffirms his position as a trailblazer in the industry. His collection is a testament to the idea that, even when the pockets may be light, the visual richness of art and fashion knows no bounds. Fashion enthusiasts worldwide eagerly await the opportunity to immerse themselves in this abundance of creativity.
