Adelina, a London-based singer-songwriter, releases her new track ‘Butter’ today, which is laced with throbbing beats and addictive melodies, coupled with a self-directed music video.
The female musician will always refer to herself as a “Citizen of the World,” despite having an exceptionally diversified mixed ethnic heritage of at least eight nations and having lived on three distinct continents. This explains her sound’s international inspirations, which are a blend of global pop with afrobeat, Latin pop, eastern elements, and other genres and fusions.
Adelina is delighted to represent the rising female music producer’s community by producing and engineering her songs regularly. Her Aquarius attitude is rebellious, and she will never be hesitant to push the concept of female artists’ self-sufficiency and inventiveness into the male-dominated production and engineering industry.
Adelina draws inspiration from a wide range of genres, fusing afrobeat beats with electronic synthesisers, adding warmth and brightness to the instant feel of ‘Butter.’ Continuing this enthusiasm, Adelina’s inimitable vocals set the album aglow with an anthemic chorus and verses that establish the groundwork for her lust-laden lyrics. The track’s backbone, its multi-genre crossing production, was taken from Adelina’s own inspiration, allowing her to take the lead on creating the track, adding another creative achievement to this versatile artist’s resume.
Speaking on ‘Butter’ Adelina explains; “Whilst working on a song I’ve felt like we’ve created a new genre unintentionally: futuristic Afro-pop. The record contains afrobeat grooves along with electronic samples and futuristic synths. I feel like if Weeknd jumped into an afrobeat world that would be it.”
This artist has also released a self-directed music video to accompany the single, a visualiser that draws you into Adelina’s bright world while taking you out of your own.
In her own words, Adelina explains; “I always take part in every aspect of my artistry, whether it’s styling, directing, graphics, music production etc. With this video, I took a step to deliver the idea I’ve had for a while: Matrix-inspired visual shot on VHS cameras along with futuristic holograms and completely different styling for each scene, to showcase how I transform into different looks like a chameleon. The idea behind the video is to follow your heart instead of your brain, and it shows at the beginning of the video when I’m selecting the program “Follow Your Heart” and loading it into my body. You will hear associated lyrics with this concept along with the bionic heart symbolism in multiple shots. I wanted to take people on this interstellar journey when I directed “Butter” along with the talented Dree (Brotherslab)”
Proving she is here as a mainstay, Adelina’s powerful aura, genre influences and perfectionism resonates with her everyday motto of ‘Quality over Quantity’. Along with her single releases, she is planning to release her debut EP later this year.
