Belgian queer hyper-pop duo Promis3 release ‘New Horizon’

Promis3, a Belgian creative duo, has taken the hyper-pop world by storm during the previous two years. The musicians are known for their avant-garde approach to modern pop music, and they have created a future sound that draws inspiration from European clubs and LGBT culture.

Their latest single, ‘New Horizon,’ which is out today, takes listeners on another trip, this time via one of beauty and paradise. The track, which arrives in the shape of a power ballad, is about the merciless ambition to achieve and the various barriers that might arise before you eventually get to where you want to be.

On the message behind the single, the artists proclaim: “It’s a symbolic representation of the agony that we undergo within the creative processes but also in life. We imagined ourselves travelling to a new world where things are better, going through extreme weather conditions on a raft on a wild and desolate sea, crossing seas and borders, with our goals being the final destination. We were being pulled there by the power of our ambitions.”

Never one to rest on their laurels, ‘New Horizon’ pays homage to the 90s with an assortment of blissful trance synthesisers, while their unique distorted vocals take centre stage, demonstrating an ability to build fictitious settings that bring their stories to life. The tune concludes with a joyful, full-on dancing explosion, in addition to a brilliant use of pitch modulation.

‘New Horizon’ marks the beginning of what appears to be a big year for Promis3. The musicians have plenty of reasons to be enthusiastic, with additional songs on the way that will further develop their particular style of hyper pop, as well as appearances at Luxembourg Pride and Belgium’s highly celebrated Dour festival. The world should brace itself for the sound of the future.
