Broke Magazine reviews AJA’s single ‘Love At First Song’

Straight out of Canada’s prosperous major city of Toronto, 17-year-old AJA (pronounced Asia) aka Aja Neinstein is currently one to watch in pop music. Boasting over 200,000 followers on Instagram, AJA has been a viral star since 2014 when she won American media personality Perez Hilton’s ‘Can You Sing’ competition with her Cover of Sia’s ‘Chandelier’ and continued to build a platform on her self-titled YouTube channel posting herself singing covers, earning herself a publishing deal at 12 years old.

AJA began releasing her own music in Lockdown, quickly making a name for herself in the pop world, with her first track ‘Nerve’ receiving over 1 million Spotify streams. AJA’s empowering, from the heart lyrics in combination with her remarkable vocal ability and pop production make her music so catchy and captivating. AJA’s established song writing abilities radiate through her music and it is clear to see why she has had such a successful road so far to be where she is now, writing and releasing her own music with praise from huge names like Billboard, IDOLATOR and Wonderland and features on Spotify playlists such as ‘Pop All Day’. Not to mention in 2021, AJA was made iHeartRadio’s ‘Future Star’, a huge honour for someone of her age in the industry.

She has recently released the visuals accompanying her new single ‘Love at First Song’. The video is a wholesome compilation of moments in her life showing her writing and recording processes, live performances, and moments with her fans alongside the sound of the new punchy pop single. ‘Love At First Song’ was written with Jimmy McGorman who has previously worked with artists such as Avril Lavinge, Gwen Stefani and the Goo Goo Dolls and Will Champlin who is a two-time Grammy award-winning songwriter. The track itself projects how perfectly AJA’s lyrics and vocals blend with the background melodies to create a song which really is the ideal pop ballad.

Speaking on the track AJA says “When we wrote Love At First Song, I wasn’t in the mood to write about feeling empowered or writing about being irritated with a boy or girl drama, I just wanted to write about something I loved and this was an easy topic for me. I love how certain songs can make you feel something. It can take you on a journey of emotions. It can make you cry, lift you up when you are sad or make you feel like a badass even if you weren’t necessarily feeling that way before the music came on.”

AJA’s growing fanbase and immense attention on social media leaves us with no doubt that her music career will continue to grow as it has been rapidly doing over the past 8 years. We are super excited to hear how AJA’s sound will continue to change and begin a new chapter as she continues to grow up writing about her experiences and relationships.
