Broke Magazine’s Guide To Madruga Festival 2024

We’ll be trekking to Wales for the second time this summer to scope out Madruga festival, a three-day intimate mansion party starting this Friday and while we’re popping our Madruga cherry we’ve got a sneaky feeling we’re in for a weekend saucy tunes, dancing dusk ’til dawn and some sexy sets from this year’s lineup of DJs. So, before we pack our bags and head off for a rager of a weekend, we’ve pulled together a list of top picks, set times and stage info so you don’t have to scramble to find them when you’re f*cked, ‘av’ a good one Brokerz…

Friday 26th July

MAGDURA STAGE

20:00-22:00 BLUMITSU

Blumitsu knows how to lock in an audience with their beats, the sets are the equivalent of a mental massage on ecstasy and if you’re not careful you’ll end up getting lost in one from start to finish, if you’re chasing after smooth cyberoptic vocals, synths and bassy wobs this weekend you’ll wanna be front of the decks for this one.

ESO ROOM

11: 00-1:00 THE GHOST

We have been WAITINGGG to see The Ghost in action, especially since all that is said online is “Berlin, 2015. Local authorities receive reports of a mysterious white van parked up around the city. House music can be heard from within while a queue of people wait in line. It’s called The Ghost, and seven years on, what was once this covert mobile record shop has become its own little universe.”

We are so spooked as you and can’t wait to experience the intimate vibes The Ghost will grant us.

1:00-3:00 KT *

We’ve seen this queen go B2B with Papa Nugs at Gottwood and work a crowd with her beebily boobily beats at Junction 2, with finite number of mixes on Soundcloud (which we’ve consumed multiple times) and live sets in London being a rarity, if you’re into smooth synths blended with sexy vocals and the odd wob you’ll wanna catch her while you can.

SATURDAY 27TH JULY

ESO ROOM

00:00-1:30 JOY ORBISON

If you don’t know Joy Orbison or Joy O (Peter O’Grady) – he is an English electronic musician that is hitting the decks this upcoming weekend. His style is a coalescence of house, dubstep, UK funky, UK garage and old school jungle. He is a champ at mixing genres and our eardrums are buzzin’ about it!

3:00-5:00 DJ ADHD *

Full disclosure this is the first time we’ll be catching DJ ADHD live but we’re absolutely buzzing for this set, as a neurospicy team we absolutely have to see what he’s saying, we’ve pre’d his Spotify and the bops be BOPPIN’, if you’re into stomach flipping tunes that’ll have you gagging for another begging and pleading for another drop, we’ve found your guy.

SUNDAY 28TH JULY

MADGURA STAGE

20:00-22:00 DR BANANA

Dr Banana is no doubt one of our fav’s at Broke Mag. We have seen him countless times and it’s always so much energy! Dr Banana is a record connoisseur, label boss, and sleight-of-hand expert known for his eclectic mix, boundless energy, and playful approach to the dance floor. He is rooted in UKG but his diverse sets include electro, techno, minimal, and cross-genre hits.

ESO ROOM

00:00-3:00 PAPA NUGS B2B DJ ADHD B2B KT B2B DR BANANA *

We’re actually gonna miss this one because we’ve gotta make it back for our day jobs, but you best believe we’ll be screaming internally all the way home because with these four hopping on the decks for a B2B it’ll be absolute fire, so please all get f*cked up on our behalf and enjoy what will no doubt be a night of absolute bangers.
