Broke Magazine’s Guide To Noisily

When you think of classic British festivals, your mind probably goes to grotty tents, messy nights, and going nonstop for four days straight. While we Brokerz know how to deal with the duttiest of dutty festivals, Noisily does things a little differently, with meditation, yoga and metaphysical sessions by day and underground wobs at night (my GOD are we ready for a weekend of relaxation, restoration, DJs and dance music).

With Noisily only a week away, we haven’t stopped yapping about how stoked we are to strip off in the sun, unwind and indulge ourselves in everything mind, body and soul, three pillars that make up the heart of this festival and rave to some seriously-good grooves at Noisily’s six stages (if anyone needs us we’ll probably be at Parliament Of Funk). This year music-wise, the festival has a banging line-up with a mixture of recognisable names (including Sam Bangura, B.Love & Marcelina Wick) and underground mystery acts that we can’t wait to scout out.

“When we started Noisily 13 years ago, all we knew was that we wanted to put on the best party in the UK – a well-rounded, multifaceted event rooted in a high-quality huge production rave. Now that we are older and wiser, that desire has not changed, but we’ve learned that we need to invest in our future” says Found of Noisily, Chris Williams. “This year we’ve been able to do the things that we’ve always wanted to do; the DnB partnerships with Hospital Records, Critical and DJ Marky & Friends are massive and really fit the direction that we want to go in on a musical level. We’re so excited about these new developments, and the fact that Noisily can now flourish in the decades ahead. See you all in the woods.”

As for how we’ll be spending our sacred four days at Noisily? Between multi-dimensional day sessions from an OM chanting circle and Kundalini Yoga to a topless tea party, we’ll be soaking up every second of this festival’s cosmic atmosphere by exploring the psychedelic art gallery, colourful mushroom forest with live plant music, LED trees and cosy campfire. Check out our day-by-day agenda for making the most of Noisily Festival 2024 below…

OPENING CEREMONY

We haven’t been to Noisily’s opening ceremony before but for any first-timers looking to get a feel for the festival’s community, there’s no better way than by celebrating the start of this very special event alongside each other (it’ll no doubt, be an empowering reminder of why we return year after year).

KUNDALINI YOGA

If you’re looking to unblock your chakras and start Noisily 2024 with a more balanced mind, body and spirit, use this to set the tone for the weekend ahead. ENERGY AND CRYSTAL HEALING

After partaking in an incredible energy healing session using crystal bowls a couple months back, we left with peaceful minds and a feeling of alignment with the universe. Used to create frequencies that clear blocked chakras and get stagnant energy moving again, this morning session at the Ushti Kushti Lounge, led by Leona, a Sekhem energy healing master, qualified meditation teacher and experienced sound bath practitioner and Chantelle a third-generation shamanic healer, will be a great way to ground yourself and mentally stabilise your mind for the weekend ahead.

TOPLESS TEA PARTY

We are hoping this is exactly how it sounds… praying we meet the mat hatter along the way! Us Brokerz eyes are on this sharing circle hosted by Alev, a woman seeking to empower others to reclaim their “wild womb powers.” Happening on Friday at the Red Tent, this is an opportunity to get involved in body positivity workshops to embrace the “magic of our bodies.” This particular experience is designed to foster self-care, acceptance and empowerment through different methods like painting, sharing or just being present.

NOISILY LATE CABARET

There are two cabarets happening on Friday and we hope to get to witness them both but ngl the late-night one is right up our street! It has a sexy twist on the normal Noisily cabaret with acts that f*ck around with gender stereotypes. celebrate everything non-binary and include loads of kinky special performances!

FOX AND BADGE KINK DOME

Immersive kink collective Fox and Badge invites festival-goers to explore shibari, blue lotus, sploshing, sensory deprivation and sensuality through a boundary-pushing synthesis of electronic music, art, performance, and interactivity. The Fox and Badge team believe that by giving permission at scale and creating just the right atmosphere of play and liberation, they really can unleash your truest selves and most authentic desires. They strive to bring deep joy, hope, pleasure and meaning; to touch hearts, minds and souls, and welcome you into a creative and open-hearted community.

NATURAL SYMPHONY’S POP-UP TECHNO SET

As far as secret sets go, it doesn’t get cooler than a trail starting with miniature crystal mushrooms and maps being handed out by three actors and ends with finding a forest rave where trees control the basslines, melodies and lights. We won’t rest ’til we’ve tracked down an invite to this…

B.LOVE

If there’s one thing B.Love always delivers, it’s wholesome, feel-good sets. Funky house fans, make your way over to our favourite stage for an atmosphere of Saturday night fever complete with glittering mirror balls, bops and a tinge of disco magic.

DON’T MISS

OM CHANTING CEREMONY

This one is a commitment and as a team with raging ADHD who can’t sit still for more than 10 minutes, sitting in a circle for 45 is a little daunting, that said we’re all about finding ways to connect more deeply with ourselves and the universe and chanting this sacred mantra whilst seated in a special configuration to offer a clearing and blessing to the environment and its inhabitants is something we’re so down for. Anyone participating bring a bottle of water to absorb the healing energy, names and names of people or situations needing healing (those wanting to feel the benefits without getting involved can receive an OM bath outside the circle).

DREAM WORKSHOP

Been manifesting your dream life? The dream workshop on Sunday from 12.30 pm – 1.30 pm is the perfect place for it! The session will help attendees tap into how they REALLY want to feel by answering questions about setting intentions and goals, highlight habits you can implement to start the journey as well and help introduce the new vision with powerful meditation.

JOURNEY INTO DREAMTIME WITH MUGWORT

Tea at festivals is underrated and we’ll be switching out our classic cuppa for mugwort. This magical plant holds potent female energy and is deeply connected to dreaming and the womb, partake in this tea held in the Red Tent followed by guided yoga Nidra to access the secrets she holds.

SOUL CONNECTION

After what will no doubt be a weekend filled with love, it’s only right to share a wave of it with the rest of the world, before we take the lessons we’ve learned at Noisily back into reality, this gathering is a chance to celebrate oneness with others and the planet as we consciously breathe together.
