Broke Magazine’s Guide To Wild Wood 2025

With less than a week until Wild Wood 2025 kicks off, we’ve been ‘avin a ‘lil nosy to see what we can expect as first-time attendees. Nestled within the mystical setting of South Cambridgeshire’s Woodland Glade, the festival’s intimate community will once again gather under a cosy canopy of trees for an immersive weekend of wobs, wilderness and wellness…frankly, we can’t f*cking wait.

With a downright juicy lineup of artists who have their fingers pressed firmly on the pulse of disco, house and ethereal frequencies, we have a sneaky feeling we might be in for the kinda trippy, twinkly & mind-altering tunes that’ll have us dancing under their ‘well hung’ glitter disco dick from dusk ’til dawn.

Erecting stages (pun intended) from branches shed by the surrounding trees and scouting cosy natural nooks to transform into dance floors, the setting is prime for ravers to reconnect with themselves and Mother Nature with the help of some seriously transcendent tunes.

Aside from being a hippie haven that pulled us in with one look at their camp aesthetics, cosy crowds, mushroom motifs, sound healing sessions, art installations (one called the ‘Vulva Voom’ with a powerful pussy-themed entrance that slays a ‘lil too hard), disco yoga and on-site spa with hot tubs and saunas to accommodate that much-needed wind-down, the festival is also fully independent and female-founded so you just know the vibes will be unmatched.

Between stomping around with wide eyes and lazy smiles, exploring a whole new party playground, scouting out secret stages, following our ears and no doubt stopping to catch one of the festival’s famous sunsets, with more than a few names on the lineup that we’re simply not willing to miss, we’ve pulled together a guide of all the sets we’ll be seshing front of the decks at next weekend…

FRIDAY

Make A Dance

Bringing all the goodness of M.A.D Record’s versatile blend of artists to the decks, you can never quite guess what this community-funded label is gonna layout for the dancefloor. Their metamorphosing sets move between jazzy slow burners, Disco-dipped drops, wibbly (and sometimes downright weird) wobs – don’t get us wrong we rate it and a touch of tribal here and there – whatever the vibe come ready to boogie.

Jive Talk

A long-time Broke Magazine fave, we’ve danced to this duo at more festivals than we can count and never find ourselves disappointed. Always an authentic party atmosphere, anyone searching for fuzzy tunes that deliver a buzz and rhythms travelling between house, breaks, garage and basically anything that meets their “big beat manifesto” from the pair’s illustrious record collection, will wanna mentally mark these wax wizards as one not to miss over the weekend.

Tia Cousins

Constantly toeing the line between retro and recent, Tia Cousins is a key player in underground dance music culture. Digging up scene-shaping remixes from back in the day to dropping progressive releases from the freshest producers, she’s bridging a gap between eras, ensuring every set remains true to the culture’s roots. Spicing up her well-sequenced sets with seasonings of Jazz, Synth-Pop, Techno, Breaks and Post-Punk, Tia’s mixes mould and bend to meet the surroundings so you’ll never experience a set that’s quite the same.

SATURDAY

Horse Meat Disco

Always delivering soulful sets, if spending the night discotheque style to the sounds of reworked ’70s classics sounds good, you’re in the right place. Pulling out everything from archive remixes to raw disco grooves, the foursome behind the decks know a thing or two about ’70s music and creating a boogie-filled dance floor – you’ll find nothing but friendly faces and good vibes at this one.

Mother Earth

While this two-woman duo may be called Mother Earth their sets will guide you through raw organic rhythms to trippy intergalactic acid twists that’ll have your feet stomping on the grass beneath and head exploring a whole new dimension above. Keeping you grounded with deep bassy rumbles and a plethora of frequencies & funk, you’ll most likely leave this set feeling lighter and looser than when you first arrived.

Crazy P

Coming straight outta the early ’90s house and techno era, Crazy P are true OGs of the UK dance scene. Rethinking timeless underground classics, experimenting with every kinda genre and sampling some of the most iconic releases of the century, bringing nearly 30 years of music creation and no-doubt an all-encompassing curation of records to Wild Wood, heart, soul and genuinely good music will be at the centre of this DJ set.

Dr Banana

Never failing to deliver a banging beat, this DJ & Producer with his bottomless record bag of electro, techno and exploratory shellers has a unique ear for collecting the creme de la creme of fresh cuts and cult underground remixes. Mixing influences from his UKG roots and refusing to be boxed in by genre, this man knows electronic music inside out and you’ll always be in for some leg-wobbling tunes at his sets. Btw, he’ll be going B2B in the last hour with Sandy and others from his Wild Wood takeover so obviously we’re gonna swing by *side eye*.

Natural Symphony

As far as grounding grooves go, it doesn’t get better than Natural Symphony. Turning the biorhythms of trees and plants into live electronic music and immersive, interactive art, listening to one of these sets is nothing short of a spiritual experience. Tuning into the language of Mother Nature through twinkling synths and sacred sounds we can’t think of a better place to experience this masterpiece than in the leafy setting of Wild Wood.

SUNDAY

Lukas Wigflex

With a rabbit-hole record bag of wonky wobs, curve-ball techno hitters and twitchy electronic tunes, Lukas Wigflex’s haze-inducing, hybrid sets are made for dancing in the dark. With a real primal underground feel to his selections and beat drops that’ll make you lose breath, all we can say is give into the brain tingle, carve out a space and soak in the frequencies.

Hunee

Taking dancers on a transcendent trip, Hunee’s explorative House, Funk and Soul selections touch on tracks from all eras, countries and cultures. With seemingly no set ever the same, the only thing to expect is the unexpected as he takes you on a journey of energy, using music that’ll pull you outta the mind and into your body with every pang of emotion and euphoria (with the odd break to desperately Shazam any naughty tunes for track IDs ofc). In addition to his two and a half hour set, he’ll also be closing out the last hour of the festival with a fire B2B alongside Luke Una.

With only a few remaining tickets for Wild Wood 2025, anyone looking to join us in the woods next weekend for a big phat boogie can purchase passes here.
