Broke Magazine’s Guide to The Word’s Wettest Festival S20

As summer 24’ begins to fade in New York, S2O brings one of the final splashes of outdoor rave season to The Brooklyn Mirage over Labor Day weekend. Known as “the world’s wettest party,” S2O will make its United States debut, heating up the rave scene in Brooklyn with headliners Marshmello (Saturday) and Subtronics (Sunday).

More than just an immersive water music festival, S2O has grown into the world’s largest Songkran/Thai New Year celebration since its inception in Bangkok in 2015. The festival has expanded to Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam, celebrating the Songkran tradition of “spraying one another with water for good luck.” S2O is praised for its groundbreaking fusion of electronic dance music and water effects, creating an experience like no other.

The New York lineup features artists known for their immersive experiences and distinct visual identities, blending music, visuals, and branding across various electronic music genres. Ravers will be treated to performances by Alan Walker, Said the Sky b2b William Black, Timmy Trumpet, and local Asian-American artists such as SENSI, Zion b2b Jomu, Cyberpunk b2b PSYXTOI, and JOKAH.

Please note: At Broke, we prioritize the safety of our readers and fellow ravers. It’s important to note recent incidents near the Brooklyn Mirage venue. In a tragic event similar to the incidents in 2023, a man’s body was found in the nearby river after attending a Knockdown Center show (located near the same area as The Brooklyn Mirage). Please stay safe, be aware of your surroundings, and make sure you don’t go home alone.
