Broke Mag’s Wob Wrap-Up

Being a completely transparent babe, we get SO fricking many music submissions into our email inbox every single day. As many of you avid readers know, we are a pretty small team and writing a dedicated feature for each banger we receive is off the cards. That’s why we are launching our ‘Weekly Wob Wrap-Up’, a series that will encapsulate the newest best of the best tracks from the previous week.

We want to shine a light on the spectrum of genres and showcase our personal music taste to you guys with this series. All music featured every week will also be added to our Broke Magazine monthly playlists so you can party with us at any time of day, at your own convenience.

So enough of the bullshit, let’s jump into the wobs for this week…

Emily Nash – Fire (Baby Weight Remix)

Described as an “Artist to Watch” by The Blessed Madonna, Emily Nash releases a new remix “Fire” with her signature club-focused style. The original gained traction on multiple streaming platforms and received airplay on BBC Radio and international stations. Baby Weight has injected her dynamic energy into the remix, aiming to create a rave-ready anthem. Inspired by Nash’s previous remix of “Slay 4 Me,” Baby Weight aimed to intensify the track’s energy, adding tension and theatrics to create an unforgettable club experience.

ARTY – Sunshine (CHANEY Remix)

Wave goodbye to the mundane; ARTY’s ‘Sunshine,’ the euphoric anthem from 2019, has been brilliantly reimagined by the prodigious CHANEY. This remix isn’t just a track—it’s a vibrant, electrifying experience. Packed with pulsing beats and exuberant vocals, CHANEY transforms the original into a high-octane banger that refuses to fade into the background. Ready to dominate playlists and dancefloors alike, this remix promises to be the unforgettable soundtrack of this summer.

Bad Intentions – Kiss Myself

Hold onto your headphones—rising star Bad Intentions is crashing the tech house scene with his explosive Armada Music debut, ‘Kiss Myself’. This track isn’t just a song; it’s an anthem, blending iconic vocal samples from the classic Human Resource banger ‘Dominator’ with deep, reverbed bass lines and raw, edgy synths. It’s a powerhouse that redefines roughness and turns any dance floor into a frenzy of movement.

Prospa – If You Want My Loving

One of my favourite UK electronic duos Prospa prepares for their forthcoming EP with the recent release of the anthemic single “If You Want My Loving”. The track blends soulful vibes with acid-tinged elements, paying homage to the euphoria of ’90s rave culture. Since their breakout anthem “Prayer” in 2018, Prospa has soared to prominence, showcasing their versatility on global stages from Glastonbury to Coachella. “If You Want My Loving” marks a significant milestone in their evolving sound, promising more exhilarating releases to come.

OX7GEN – Neo Sensei

OX7GEN, a leading producer in India’s music scene, made his mark with Drum & Bass releases on renowned labels like Ram Records and Hospital Records, even remixing U2. Now, he’s broadening his musical scope while maintaining a love for bass-centric sounds. Exploring various genres and tempos over the years, he feels his latest work truly expresses his authentic voice as a producer. “Neo Sensei” builds towards euphoric peaks with relentless energy.

Cat & Calmell – give urself 2 me

Cat & Calmell unleash their latest single, “give urself 2 me,” promising a wild ride on the dance floor. The track, conceived during a post-birthday bash in Melbourne, embodies their urge to embrace life’s fun side. Reflecting on a desire to break free from past heaviness, the duo aims to embody carefree vitality. Producer Lucy Blomkamp captures their essence, crafting a playful tune that melds trashy allure with infectious energy. Drawing inspiration from ’90s Asian icons and European Hyperpop, the song emerges as a modern anthem akin to Icona Pop’s style.

Sofia Kourtesis, Quantic, Andreya Triana – Run feat. Andreya Triana (Sofia Kourtesis remix)

Berlin-based Peruvian artist Sofia Kourtesis collaborates with vocalist Andreya Triana to remix Quantic’s track “Run” from the album ‘Dancing While Falling’ (2023). This remix showcases Kourtesis’ love for vibrant house music, drawing inspiration from Berlin’s dance scene, particularly the euphoria of moments in Panorama Bar. With a faster tempo and intricate percussion, the remix exudes the essence of early Strictly Rhythm and Masters at Work releases, perfect for summer festivals and energetic dance floors.

Nia Archives – Cards On The Table

The now household name Nia Archives, a rising star from Bradford and Leeds, releases her debut album “Silence Is Loud”, showcasing 13 tracks produced by Ethan P. Flynn. The lead single, “Cards On The Table,” explores innocent romance and self-expression, accompanied by a video directed by Rory Wood. The album blends jungle with influences from Britpop, Motown, indie, and more, addressing themes of relationships, loneliness, and navigating adulthood. Nia’s unconventional approach extends beyond music, evident in her collaboration with artist Corbin Shaw and hosting a record-breaking Boiler Room event for women, trans, and non-binary individuals.

ELLES, Martyn Bootyspoon – Sex Martyn Bootyspoon’s Hornt Parade Mix

London artist and Rinse FM host, ELLES, releases “A Celebration Of The Euphoria Of Remixes” EP, featuring revamped tracks from her debut album by Real Lies, Whitney Weiss, Martyn Bootyspoon, and herself. ELLES expresses joy in exploring ravier sonics and collaborating with esteemed artists, envisioning expanded universes for her tracks.
