After lugging myself and a shit-tone of rave gear back from Gottwood Festival located in the top end of Wales, then jetting off to the complete opposite setting of Florence, Italy… I am back with this another Wob Wrap-Up. To be 100% honest, this one is extra big as I’ve been catching up on the creme de la creme of wobs over the last two weeks (a girl gotta holiday).
The inbox has been poppin’ the F off and I have tried my best to be selective, but there’s so much good music, this one is for sure longer than my usual write-ups. From local DJs and producers like J.Aria and TIBASKO to well-known names like Gorgon City and up-and-coming musicians like piri and salute, this one has a little bit of everything… for everyone who likes to boogie.
TIBASKO – ‘U Know Me?’
I couldn’t do this wrap-up without featuring our good pals TIBASKO (comprised of Ken Petalcorin and Andy Bowden) who literally JUST released ‘U Know Me?’. The single is a crowd-pleasing electronica anthem featuring memorable vocal samples, bubbling synth melodies, and reverb-soaked atmospherics.
TIBASKO describes the track as a blend of emotive, forward-thinking electronic music inspired by artists like Narciss and DJ Heartstring, combining a hard house beat with their trademark emotional depth.
Adam F – Brand New Funk ‘Adam F Reboot’
Be ready for some true genre-mixing from Drum ‘n’ Bass pioneer Adam F, who is reissuing his classic dance floor anthem ‘Brand New Funk’. Inspired by the vibrant Funk era and film scores, Adam set the scene in his bedroom studio, layering eerie pads and sound effects, and jammed on the Rhodes and Clavinet simultaneously with a wah-wah pedal.
“I wanted to fuse my background in Funk and 70’s film soundtracks with the emerging jungle and drum and bass scenes, but with an unpredictable arrangement,” Adam F explains.
J. Aria – ‘PUSSY SUITE’
Keepin’ it local with Adonis and Dalston Superstore resident J. Aria who recently unveiled their new 3-track EP, Pussy Suite. The stand-out track is ‘PUSSY SUITE’ which is exactly how it sounds! This project is a heartfelt exploration of house music’s intrinsic queer history, opening with the audacious title track—a stomping beat crafted for intense rave moments.
London-based multi-instrumentalist producer and selector J. Aria, known for their acid-camp, fierce-groove dramatics, has made significant waves in the queer underground scene with performances at Carry Nation, Block9, Body Movement, and more. With acclaimed releases on Super Drama Records and Queer House Party, Pussy Suite marks their Adonis debut, showcasing a genre-defying sound that spans the spectrum of dance music with soulful fierceness and romance.
(If you like NYC music vibes, we also recommend giving ‘INVISIBLE’ from the album a listen).
Fabrice – ‘Resonating Sounds’
Rising artist based in Ibiza, Fabrice has just unleashed his impressive EP, Echoes of Chaos. Our stand-out track has to be the darker and more underground sound of ‘Resonating Sounds’ as the bassline is unmatched, my head won’t stop boppin’ ngl!
He has immersed himself in music and production, teasing crowds with his eclectic sets alongside Ben Klock, Joseph Capriati, Jamie Jones, SYREETA, and Seb Zito.
The whole album showcases Fabrice’s diverse yet cohesive sound. “With influences from Techno, Romanian Minimal, Deep House, and my lifelong passion for Hip-Hop,” Fabrice explains, “I crafted this EP to reflect my varied musical journey.”
salute feat. piri – ‘luv stuck’
This collaboration is one we have been curious about. DJ and producer salute has come together with Manchester artist piri (known from the band piri & tommy and the collective Loud LDN) for a new single titled “luv stuck”.
The track features vibrant synthesizers, a light drum groove, driving sub-bass, and piri’s playful vocals. Piri commented on the song’s creation, highlighting its roots in a vulnerable period and the challenges of moving on from an amicable breakup.
Riton, RoRo, DJ Ian Asher – ‘Shake Shake’
Renowned UK dance producer Riton, known for global hits like ‘Friday’ and the GRAMMY-nominated ‘Rinse & Repeat,’ releases the latest instalment ‘Shake Shake’. Teaming up with acclaimed Barbados-based vocalist RoRo and rising DJ/producer Ian Asher, Riton delivers another banger.
‘Shake Shake’ combines RoRo’s vibrant vocals with Asher’s addictive production, creating a dynamic, high-energy club anthem. The 2-minute track features RoRo’s seamless flow over a pulsating drum pattern and catchy, energetic keys, capturing the essence of the dance floor and unforgettable hazy nights.
Maurizio Basilotta, Coco Street & MF Productions – Gotta Get Down Girl
Bringing the infectious groove of disco house back to King Street Sounds, Maurizio Basilotta, Coco Street, and MF Productions release their vibrant rendition of Indeep’s iconic ‘Last Night A DJ Saved My Life’ from 1982 (hands down one of the most iconic and favourited tracks of mine).
Their track ‘Gotta Get Down Girl’ is a spirited celebration of that unforgettable evening, blending upbeat rhythms with funk-laden beats that pulse with energy. It’s a nod to the timeless appeal of disco, delivering a supercharged experience that captures the essence of pure joy and musical nostalgia.
Infinite Coles – ‘Boots’
We love the LGBTQIA+ scene, and singles like Infinite Coles’ new release “Boots” are why. Coles infuses ballroom culture’s energy with high-octane dance production by Zach Witness (Erykah Badu’s producer), transitioning from R’n’B experimentation to club-kid-inspired dance music.
Infinite Coles, the son of Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah, is emerging as one of New York’s most compelling modern music expressionists. Despite growing up surrounded by the innovations of Black music, forging his musical identity was challenging due to personal battles as a Black man in the LGBTQIA+ community. Inspired by Ru Paul and the ballroom community, Coles shares, “Boots was inspired by Ru Paul, a pillar of drag culture. I remember watching an episode of Drag Race AllStars 4 where the category was ‘Boots The House Down,’ and Ru told a queen to ‘lace up her boots so she could eat bitches,’ which resonated with me deeply.”
Tensnake feat. Jessy Lanza – Keep It Secret (Les Bisous Remix)
French disco house band Les Bisous bring their signature style to the remix of Tensnake and Jessy Lanza’s ‘Keep It Secret’, amplifying the infectious bassline and original vocals.
Their rendition from the ‘Stimulate’ album radiates with summer vibes and dance floor euphoria, staying true to their energetic form. With playful rhythms and a vibrant atmosphere, Les Bisous delivers a remix that channels a completelygroovy vibe.
Never Dull – ‘BONKERS’
This track is exactly how it sounds… Bonkers but boppin’! Hailing from San Diego, Never Dull seamlessly blends his Mexican American heritage with the quintessential Californian vibes to create a groovilicious sound. His music always radiates positivity and really brings a sense of community to the dancefloor, and ‘BONKERS’ is no exception.
Producing tracks since 2017, Never Dull has released more than 100 official tracks including original productions, disco edits, and remixes ranging from old classic house to nu-disco.
Felix Leiter – Out My Mind
The opening lines of Felix Leiter’s ‘Out My Mind’ encapsulate its essence perfectly. With a lively, buoyant rhythm and an upbeat tempo, the track resonates with all the joys life has to offer. Its hard house beats are irresistibly infectious, ensuring it’s a tune you’ll keep coming back to, craving more of its energetic vibe.
Felix evolved from a resident at Digital Newcastle to headlining festivals worldwide and gracing top clubs globally. His releases on influential labels and endorsements from elite DJs and radio stations showcase his ongoing talent.
Matt Guy – Every Little Time (Back in ’97 Mix)
Matt Guy revisits his smash 2023 single “Every Little Time” with a vibrant nod to ‘90s rave culture in the fresh-to-death “Back in ’97 Mix.” This version infuses the upbeat groove with an extra dose of energy, capturing the heart of classic rave while adding a contemporary twist.
The original track, already a melodic triumph, soared to new heights with support from BBC Radio 1’s Danny Howard, becoming a festival favourite and dance floor staple worldwide. This track allows you to feel the euphoric rush of ’97 and we love it!
Evissimax – ‘OTT’
Italo-Nigerian artist Evissimax (who has performed with VTSS and LSDXOXO) releases her new single ‘OTT’ from her debut EP. ‘OTT’ honours her Nigerian mother and the influential women of Nigeria, featuring co-producer Ayce Bio. The track combines samples of her mother Otiti speaking Edo with Afro rhythms, electronic beats, and Jersey club vibes, reminiscent of early 2000s Nollywood.
The whole ‘REBOOT-Y’ EP demonstrates an innovative mix of Techno, Electro, Jersey Club, and Trance. We are also huge fans of track 2 titled ‘Loud Whisper’, check it out!
Mamba – ‘BREATHE’
If you are familiar with the globally recognized track “Mayonnaise,” supported by artists such as Peggy Gou, TSHA, Girls Don’t Sync, and Jaguar, you’ll be fans of Mamba’s latest track ‘BREATHE’.
Mamba is an up-and-coming electronic music producer hailing from Oxford. His distinctive style, which fuses elements of dubstep, garage, and jungle, has been making a significant impact on Bristol’s underground music scene since 2020. This latest track blends old-school garage drums with modern basslines and a 4-on-the-floor rhythm and is said to evoke euphoria and a compelling urge to dance.
