Broke’s Big Fuck Off Festival Guide 2025: UK Edition

Listen closely enough and you’ll hear ravers across the UK collectively roaring “HELL YESSSSSSSS” right now because festival season is finally on the horizon. As for the Broke team, we’re gagging to get back on a dance floor with you lot, in fields, forests and wherever the fuck else organisers fancy sticking a pair of decks. While we’re still a few months out from some of our faves opening their gates, with outdoor events kicking off across the country and festivals constructing stages and campsites ready to host us from May to September, the nation is taking a big fat sigh of relief, shaking off what’s left of our winter hibernation and gearing up for a season of seshing, soul-searching and saucy AF tunes. Whether you’re a seasoned festival-goer after goated underground lineups or a first-timer thirsting for immersive atmospheres with a crowd to match, we’ve rounded up every event that’s caught the Broke team’s eye for 2025 below…

Ahhh, we’re do we even begin… One of our favourite UK festivals (and we don’t say that lightly) Boomtown takes all the best bits of fezzie culture and blows them up to a massive scale. A place where you’ll never find yourself bored, it can only be compared to Disneyland for adults. Between the endless array of wobs, wooblies and womps you’ll hear whilst wandering between it’s many, many stages (hosting over 600 artists this year), in this functioning city (featuring a post office, laundrette, pharmacy and whatever else they decide to throw into the mix this year – each featuring their own dance floors), you’ll be met with wacky actors (throwback to when we were asked to sit on a fake toilet and sh*t out a golden poo a couple years back), hidey holes (tiny secret spaces hidden in plain sight), and a storyline that’s as embedded in the festival’s culture as their wholsome community that you’ll no doubt end up chatting nonsense with as you stumble through the districts. This years theme, ‘Power of Now’ invites ravers to live in the moment and soak up every set, second and silly moment of their 2025 edition from the opening ceremony to the closing night, and you’ll most certainly see us there.

With a whopping 13 stages set across the festival’s home of Houghton Hall, ravers will receive the best of both worlds with the option of bouncing between a inside warehouse setting (a life saver when it rains) and the fezzie’s breezy outdoor dance floors nestled within the woodland. SHAMBALA

WHEN – 21ST AUGUST – 24TH AUGUST

WHERE – NORTHAMPTONSHIRE

LINEUP – MOONCHILD SANELLY, DJ AZURE, DJ FORMAT, IVICORE CORE, MOTHER DUBBER, ELIJAH, MEDIS & MORE

Shambala is a name that keeps popping up for us and after having multiple fezzie-mates-we-made-for-5-minutes-then-never-saw-again mention their stories to us, we’ve honestly developed FOMO. The product of a group of students meeting in the late ’90s and bonding over a shared love of music, good tunes and a thirst for questioning the world, Shambala originated from a series of out of control house parties, and nights help deep in the Welsh hills with sound systems to support charitable causes. Independent, 100% renewably powered (SLAY) and community focused, the festival, celebrating “25 years of adventures in Utopia” this year, mixes the hippie culture and late night music (amen to 5am finishes) we’re looking for. With their immersive lighting installations in the Enchanted Forest, insane amount of stages including House Party, Reflex, Next and Waiting Room (each with their own unique design), attendees dressed as mushrooms or fairies and overall trippy-meets-wholesome vibe, we’re determined to make it down to Northamptonshire to see what all the fuss is about.

LOST VILLAGE

WHEN – 21ST – 24TH AUGUST

WHERE – NORTON DISNEY

LINE UP – ANOTR, HORSE MEAT DISCO, BARRY CAN’T SWIM, CC:DISCO!, CHAOS IN THE CBD, CHLOÉ CAILLET, CRAZY P, DAN SHAKE, DJ SEINFELD, FOUR TET, HAAI, HANNAH HOLLAND B2B JOSH CAFFÉ, HONEY DIJON, JAMZ SUPERNOVA, JOY ORBISON, OK WILLIAMS, PALMS TRAX, SHERELLE & MORE.

Lost Village is a beautifully strange getaway into the woods. Concealed deep in an abandoned forest near Lincoln, this four-day trip combines high-tech dance floors, boogying, and soul-clenching immersiveness to create a party for people seeking music and relaxation. The energy feels more like a surreal secret society than a music festival, with winding woodland paths leading to hidden stages, art installations, and eerie performances that pop up when you least expect it. The lineup’s stacked, as usual—expect deep, emotional sets alongside hypnotic beats from day to night. But it’s not only a music festival; there’s lakeside dining for the food lovers, fireside storytelling, and spa-like Energy Garden sessions (yes, you can have a sauna in the forest). The crowd is usually gorgeous, open-minded, and entirely up for it. Lost Village is one for the curious and the brave—those who like their festivals with a side of mystery.

FORWARDS FESTIVAL

Forwards captured our hearts last year, this year, it’s time to hand yours over. For a late summer line up of crowd pleasers, an equally powerful helping of wholesome goodness found in charities, food stands and creative activities to feed and fill your souls. For 2025 The Downs will host a head boggling selection, from Ezra Collective to The Last Dinner Party, Olivia Dean and Jorja Smith to Happy Mondays?! This day promises to be a journey. Topped off with a big dose of sex from personal favs Confidence Man and Doechii, plus Radio legend Annie Mac headlining the festival’s brand new dance tent… Seriously, unmissable.

COSMIC ROOTS

WHEN – 5TH – 8TH SEPTEMBER

LINEUP – JIVE TALK, LUKAS WIGFLEX, SOFTI & MORE

With immersive production and otherworldly music at it’s core, Cosmic Roots invites open-minded ravers into their earthy world (this year in Hampshire) for a weekend of soulful exploration. Offering a space to become one with nature and their community, sound systems so good they’ll give you an out of body experience, and a lineup of electric selectors and wax wizards that know mind-bending frequencies like the back of their hand, attendees are in for four days of trippy tunes across their aptly named Wormhole, Quadrant, Coppice and Pond Life stages in the form of solo sets and etheral B2Bs.

GET ON

WHEN – 5TH – 7TH SEPTEMBER

WHERE – SOUTH WEST

LINE UP – TBA

Closing out the summer , Get On, one of the newest independent festival to hit South West, it’s already adopted and defined its own culture in the short time it’s been running, with the team launching their first edition in 2023. Catching our eye last year with a diverse lineup of underground DJs and stage designs that had us creasing at their creativity and gagging to groove on one of their dance floors, the fezzie has unique quirks scattered throughout from Le Grille (picture a massive barbecue with a pair of decks in it), dangling vinyls decorations, holistic therapies on sight, and a lake side setting perfect for sitting by as the sun goes down, the lights go on and the festival gets into full swing. Appearing to be laid back hippie paradise by day and rave haven at night, while we’re yet to see it for ourselves, we’re buzzing to ‘Get On’ it.
