Atlanta-born, Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Cydnee With a C has just released a new music video for “Thotty,” a standout track from her recent EP, Confessions of a Fangirl, which features fellow LA-based singer-songwriter IV4. The video can be viewed by clicking HERE.
The energetic peak of the EP, “Thotty,” documents a carefree night out with a group of close friends. The music video, directed by Sellout, stars Cydnee and IV4 in the ultimate girls’ night hot tub party. With its fast-paced bassline and bubbly synths, “Thotty” is an unapologetic and fiery pep-talk that bounces from front to back.
Confessions of a Fangirl, deeply passionate and colourfully inventive, is filled with bubblegum-electric dance-infused pop, offering a breathtaking exploration of love and longing. The six-track EP is intended as a nod to Cydnee’s own “fangirl” tendencies, which include a YouTube following dedicated to her appreciation of K-pop, self-taught Korean, and even singing in Korean. Wavy synths and hypnotizing drum and bass treatments shimmer with an obsessive drive, reflecting the sort of relentless passion only a true “fangirl” could emulate.
In her own words, Cydnee reflects on the project: “‘Confessions of a Fangirl’ represents a world that fills any void. For me, it’s feeling alone and I feel complete knowing I can relate. A fangirl is an individual that is part of a community of like interests. I wanted to make a project both relatable and sonically pleasing.”
By combining Cydnee’s passion for K-pop with her exceptional musical talent, Confessions of a Fangirl is a testament to the power of music to bring people together. With the release of the “Thotty” music video, fans can experience the excitement and energy of the EP like never before.
