On Friday Night in Hackney’s NT’s Loft, Demi Riquisimo and pals graced the decks. A b2b Birthday bash to celebrate the 5th year of Semi Delicious, the label founded by the producer.
Known for his blossoming Acid/House tracks, Detroit native Demi invited a few friends, who you might also know, down to join him on the night. Including big beat dance floor idols Jive Talk, and the one and only Michelle Manetti. Personally though, we reckon the show was stolen by emerging producer, Lulah Francs. Serving up unlimited charm and presence, Lulah took us through to the early hours, going b2b with Demi on some tracks. When the night was over we couldn’t stop yapping about how insane Lulah’s set was, definitely a new found favourite, and there’s no doubt the crowd agreed.
The crowds and vibes only multiplied throughout the night, but Jive Talk started us off early with some unmissable grooves, we spotted one guy loving life, shuffling under the disco ball, looking out at the city sky line – if that’s not testament to Jive Talk’s talents then what the hell is, you gotta love a solo boogie, and we always rate it Manuel Darquart welcomed us to the party, pumping signature Italo disco bangers, bringing the sunshine to this intimate evening.
Michelle Manetti never disappoints fans, and this East London loft was packed wall to wall with partygoers thirsty to hear them spin. She set the vibes of course, reuniting with famed collaborator Demi for a few tracks too. Once again showcasing the pair are a match made in sonic Heaven.
As the night came to a close, Scarlet O’malley joined the ranks and sent it home. Always a joy, Scarlett kept energies high going b2b, and toe for toe, with Demi and Lulah throughout the set.
This anniversary was definitely one to remember. We live for bubbly, genre-bending beats and we will for sure be catching our curation King Demi again, bouncing our way through the Summer. A night of collaboration between the labels’ best seemed like the perfect way to shout of the success of Semi Delicious so far, with many more highlights to come.
