Inox Traxx Redefines Her Sound on ‘Free’

Berlin-based Inox Traxx has spent the last few years solidifying her reputation as a techno star—crystal-sharp, high-velocity, no-prisoners. She’s been bending dance floors her way at KNTXT’s London and Ghent showcases, obliterating sound systems at Berghain, Awakenings, and Intercell, and delivering hypnotic HÖR sets. But with her new ‘Free’ EP on Charlotte de Witte’s RPM by KNTXT, she’s proving she’s not just about brute force—she’s got depth, range, and an ear for the unexpected.

Four of the five tracks here hit like they’re engineered for peak-time obliteration. As de Witte puts it, it is raw, relentless, and designed for forward motion. These full-throttle cuts crackle with kinetic energy—basslines designed to tunnel through your ribcage, percussive loops locking you into a hypnotic march, and that signature tension-building Inox Traxx does so well. No wonder de Witte is a vocal fan, calling her “pure raw energy.”

But then there’s ‘Free’—the title track, the outlier, the curveball. A sweeping, ethereal, breakbeat moment that catches you off-guard in the best way. It floats rather than pummels, its weightlessness amplified by airy pads and a rhythm that feels unshackled from the rigid 4/4 constraints of its EP siblings. It’s cinematic, introspective—almost meditative. It’s the sound of Inox Traxx taking a deep breath, stepping back, and letting the music breathe with her.

She’s called ‘Free’, a reflection of a “bright, life-changing” year shaped by new experiences, people, and inspiration. You can hear that in the track—it’s personal, expansive, and quietly confident. And while the rest of the EP is built for dance floors, ‘Free’ is the afterglow—the moment of clarity before the lights return.
