LFW SS25 | Fashion Scouts ‘Ones To Watch’

Fashion Scout presented its selected ‘Ones To Watch’ at Saturdays London Fashion Week show. The chosen six designers represent the future of fashion design from London and further afield. With fashion Scout the hub of new talent in the fashion design world, their Protein Studios based in Shoreditch is the place to be during fashion week to view its latest top picks.

Julia Henrickson presented brand ‘By Juliaah’ an Oslo based designer and brand who’s love for art and clothing are blended. Julia describes her work as bold, functional and artistic. Whilst the Norway fashion scene is developing Julia had the opportunity to show her newest collection at the esteemed London Fashion Week. Whilst bold lines created by gathers wrap around the body, layers of draping create a more feminine look. Strong pvc fabric covers the body with soft over layers drape off the body. This collection is captivating and creative with exploration of multiple textures and layers.

Mushie studio a Vietnamese based fashion brand focusing on confidence, femineity and individuality. Gaining attention Mushie studio already boasts an Instagram following of 33.2K followers. This intricate and delicate design work speaks for itself, Mushi crafts modern, handcrafted products that are timeless, durable and practical. Where minimalism meets darling design this collection combining feminine gathers and draping with detailed corset details layered over the top. Neutral and pastel colours speaks to these timeless and chic designs. Mushie studios vision is clear and captivating creating pieces that are just what the modern customer is looking for.

Royal Collage of Arts MA fashion graduate, Pindiga Ranjith Kumar focuses on sustainable fabrications and traditional techniques of hand embroidery and hand painting. This Indian born, London based designers collection lends itself to both heritage and modernity. With heritage patterns and techniques used, Pindiga Ranjith Kumar is passionate about preserving sustainable craftmanship. Each collection produced by Pindiga Ranjith Kumar focuses on history and its hierarchy. This history is used in a new way by placing these historical patterns on body fitted mesh with beads and chains. Whilst blue checks and tartans are knotted and layered together. Accessories are key within this collection as they represent heritage and the story behind the collection. This collection is a step above the previous pieces and we look forward to what Pindiga Ranjith Kumar produces next.

Presenting their spring summer 2025 collection, Tara Kari, a Finland based designer, combines bold designs with a variety of textures. These powerful feminine designs feature face coverings and head pieces with full length body fitting dresses to bold leather jackets. Frills and gathers fitted to the body creates a more feminine look. However, using black primarily across the collection adds a darker tone with contrasting textures being the focus of the collection. These textile and fabric manipulations are the foundation for embroidery and embellishments across the surface. Using hints of emerald green fabric and beading throughout adds depth and intrigue to the collection.

Designer Afa Tsang first launched Berths first collection for SS14, having studied fashion design in Hong Kong graduating in 2008. Berths offerings now include womenswear, menswear, kids wear, bags collection and fashion accessories. Berth now also offers two stores based in Hong Kong. It is clear that Afa uses colour and geometric shapes as her design DNA, this modern take on a more vintage style is unique. Using a mixture of colour, pattern and print this collection is captivating and exciting. Whilst it can be too overwhelming to incorporate all these elements Berth has done well to work them together to create a collection. It will be exciting to see how this Hong Kong based brand establishes itself I London.

It is clear that fashion design is rapidly changing and developing in more ways than one. With the fashion scene being opened up across the world we are seeing talent from Norway to Vietnam and Hong Kong. Alongside also celebrating heritage and sustainable craftsmanship from across the globe. Fashion Scouts ‘One To Watch’ London Fashion Week show has certainly shown this to the Western fashion scene and we look forward to what’s next for these designers as they lead the way in global fashion design.
