Love Saves the Day 2024: Bristol’s Biggest Festival returns

Ashton Court welcomed Love Saves the Day back to the rolling hills of the South West last week. With another stellar line-up, impressive stages and of-course, cracking headliners, Katy B, Rudimental and The Streets.

The brilliantly blue Brouhaha and disco-dream-stage Paradise Lost included dancers and performers who brought the sexy summer energy, welcoming the likes of Oppidan, Dr Banana, Eats Everything, LaLa and Eliza Rose – a string of production ROYALTY between just these two stages. The good times continued to roll all the way across the site, and city, with the ever-iconic Transmission stage beaming live and direct to Bristol radio station, swu.fm all weekend – how sick is that <3.

Lulah Francs Saturday set @ Transmission

LSTD never scrimps on the little details to make every one of their weekends as oxytocin filled as possible, this years offering included a Funhouse of cider, ball pit, an inflatable church, and of course, a confessional portaloo… maybe a church and a confessional is well required after a weekend long party.

On the sunny Saturday, The Big Top’s BIG lineup included Brit award-winner CASisDEAD, Flowdan and everyones fav chap, Interplanetary Criminal. Closing up with a nostalgic, dancefloor-dose of Katy-B, celebrating Rinse 30. Rinse’s party lineup also included salute, Sammy Virji, Bakey and Joy Orbison AND MORE, over the full weekend.

Enny and Monikah Lee @ Love Saves Stage

This was my 3rd year on the trot as LSTD and I was once again totally obsessed with the festivals heart-shaped mainstage, Love Saves stage, sitting pretty in the middle of Ashton Court. Enny’s set brought everything we needed, a mix of chilled tunes and throwback garage bangers, Monikah Lee made sure to keep the vibes high. Everyone flocked to the stage for Rudimental who never fall flat, with the warmest welcome from the Bristol crowd, brought up on d’n’b.

Rudimental Saturday set @ Love Saves Stage

Headliners for the weekend were Hedex and Katy B at The Big Top, and Camelphat and The Streets on Love Saves stage. The Street’s closed the Sunday evening, a euphoric finale to a muddy day in the fields. The set felt so special, is Mike Skinner the most talented, likable guy ever? We 100% wanna join him for a tinny. During the set, including all of The Streets’ classics, Mike fitted in a quick crowd surf, a yellow pokeball (?), a load of wise words of joy and positivity and, of course, a tune sang from the top of the bogs. Literally sitting on top of the portaloos. King Energy for real.

I’ll definitely be heading home again next year for Love Saves’ 2025 instalment. I’m sure it’ll be yet another celebration of love, positivity and light with an all killer, no filler lineup. Special shout out to LSTD for always championing inclusivity and accessibility, we felt the Love for sure.
