Manchester’s much-anticipated queer rave, FREAK, has announced a day party at new open-air nightclub, Progress Centre. In a celebration of LGBTQIA+ culture, Saturday May 20th will bring an exceptional line-up of artists to the city followed by an after-party for those looking to dance into the early hours.
Since its conception back in 2019, FREAK, continues to create a space centred around inclusion, queer energy, the love of music and free expression. Showcasing the best of FREAK’s queer rave, the day party will see world-class artists and DJs including, Job Jobse, Angel D’Lite and Jaye Ward take to the decks, followed by Flo Massé, Kiss Me Again and Fastlove for the afterparty.
With 2023 set to be their largest and longest party to date, this year’s event will support the Albert Kennedy Trust, a local LGBTQIA+ charity working to aid homeless people in the community throughout the city of Manchester, with FREAK using their platform and funds to raise awareness for this vital cause.
Connor Cooper, Operations Manager at Progress Centre said: “We’re delighted to host such an important event like FREAK to The Progress Centre, welcoming not only them but also the incredible people that attend their events. We have worked hard together, to create a space that allows the freedom of expression through music, creativity and dance, which is something we are proud to align ourselves with for what’s set to be a magical moment for Manchester.”
