Olli Hull Just Turned an Electric Car Into a Floral Fairytale

Wanna know London’s latest fashion collab? A car. Yeah, you read that right. OMODA, the automotive brand on a mission to make sustainable electric vehicles sexy, just crowned our bestie, the London-based artist and designer Olli Hull, the winner of its artist collab competition. If you are new to Broke Mag then Olli is known for making up-cycled fashion that extra level of cool again with his hand-painted, one-of-a-kind pieces. His 2021 solo exhibition Act Normal was a commentary on societal norms, using reworked wedding dresses as a rebellious middle finger to consumer culture. He’s making sustainability look cool – and now, that extends to cars.

For this project, he took his detailed, ethereal style and slapped it onto a car. The result provided a mesmerising floral wonderland, inspired by vintage fairytales and nature’s endless loop of life (symbolised by the ‘O’ in OMODA, in case you needed an extra dose of symbolism). “I wanted the design to bring nature and tech together – the OMODA E5 is electric, so it felt right to celebrate sustainability through my art,” Olli said. “Also, painting a car? Mad. I loved every second.”

His botanical vision came to life with the help of photographer and AI artist Luke Nugent, who crafted an eerie but stunning futuristic setting to demonstrate the ride. Olli’s design beat the fierce competition from fellow UK artists Jing Zhang and Dan Whitehouse, with the public casting their votes via OMODA’s Instagram. (Yes, democracy in 2025 includes choosing the most aesthetically pleasing car wrap.)

“Each of these artists brought insane talent to the table, but Olli’s vision took it to another level,” said Steve Eum, OMODA’s Chief Design Officer. “At OMODA, we’re obsessed with pushing creative boundaries, and this competition was all about proving that cars can be just as much an art canvas as any sneaker or hoodie.”

Olli’s winning car is currently on display at the Endeavour OMODA dealership in Watford and will be hitting the road across the UK soon. In the meantime, he continues doing what he does best: making the fashion industry more sustainable, one upcycled masterpiece at a time.
