Queer DIY artist Foxgluvv premieres visuals for  “Lesbians on The Beach”

Foxgluvv, the unapologetically queer DIY pop artist, is back with the new double single release “Lesbians on the Beach”, which includes the tunes “You Love Her” and “2 Cherry Margaritas.”

The first instalment “You Love Her” is a mellow pop masterpiece that combines 80’s influenced sound with her beautiful voice. As Foxgluvv’s lullaby tones sing “If you’re thinking bout her right now, if you wonder then you probably are,” heartfelt words glide smoothly above synth-ladened beats. Rather than ridiculing the conventional narrative that Lesbians fall in love and move in together within a week, the song celebrates it.

Today, she drops the highly-anticipated video for “You Love Her”, exclusively premiering via Broke Magazine. The accompanying visuals give an 80s disco/American-prom vibe which demonstrates Foxgluvv’s feminity and fearlessness.

Foxgluvv says; “I think it’s a beautiful thing for us sapphics to feel so connected with each other, and I wanted to write a love song dedicated to this.” Foxgluvv performs the song between brilliantly polished digital photos and VHS, oozing sass via her extravagant words.

The otherworldly production of “2 Cherry Margaritas” brilliantly shows Foxgluvv’s left-field pop, which she has previously characterised as “hangover pop.” As she sets the stage for a beautiful summer date, Foxgluvv sings in sensuous tones, “hair in the wind want to feel her fingers glide between it, two cherry margaritas, on the beach with her.” The accompanying video for the song exudes romanticism, with the rising star surrounded by fruit and flowers.

Talking on the project Foxgluvv says: “I decided on the title “Lesbians on the Beach” because I really wanted to create a sapphic summer landscape in the mind of the listener. I also wanted to defeat any stereotypes and expectations of what would be expected from a title like this – you see “Lesbians on the Beach” and probably assume it’s going to be raunchy because that’s what has been painted of sapphic relationships… but when you listen to the songs, it’s all about love and care, and being intimate with another person who you adore. The process behind this project has been completely different and out of my comfort zone – I usually work with a producer, but this time around I let my creativity soar and decided to produce the project myself. I really enjoyed letting go of my usual process and having fun with it.”

Foxgluvv, as with all of her other albums, maintains control over her sound and style. Foxgluvv, a real visionary, has developed a brand for herself, distinguishing herself as a multifaceted talent to watch for the remainder of 2022.
