Catching Rufus Du Sol this side of the pond is a rarity and last night The Cause London hosted their only UK appearance this year in a one-off set that couldn’t have popped off harder…
Mixing up their ambient, soul-touching approach to electronic music, the decks echoed with some godly build-ups, house-heavy drops and emotion-manipulating tunes made for a rooftop rave at sunset. Luckily the venue couldn’t have been picked more perfectly, as Jon George and James Hunt (two of the Rufus Du Sol trio) spun their tunes against the backdrop of East London, the central set-up of the decks created an atmosphere of pure ecstasy. Fans filled with anticipation compacted themselves as closely to the duo as possible, soaking in every sonic sound Rufus Du Sol had to offer.
In what was no doubt the most monumental moment of the set (amongst many, many others) Rufus Du Sol dropped the song we’d all been itching to hear… Teasing the first echoes of ‘Innerbloom’ screams and whistles erupted across the space, lights mirrored the enigmatic movements of the iconic track and ravers chanted the words with emotion-tinged voices.
For anyone who wasn’t able to experience them this time round (don’t worry we’re already scouting for more UK dates and if we find one you’ll be the first to know), we wouldn’t want you to miss out, so we bottled a few of the vibes and brought them to Broke with an immersive photo/video diary…
