sh*t our founders are simping for 6.0

It’s been a manic couple of months for us, from finishing festival season and jumping straight into LFW, we’re fried and sleep deprived but we’ve had an absolute blast. With bed-rotting season upon us, we’ve finally found time for a new edition of ‘sh*t our founders are simping for’ where we’re bigging up all the brands that’ve kept us sane, sustained and looking sick throughout summer (plus some cosy buts we’ve been recovering with recently)…

NAMED COLLECTIVE – MALFUNCTION BALACLAVA IN BLACK & PINK

Lorna: Lorna: I’ve been eying up these Spring Breakers coded ballys since the last edition of SOFASF and finally got my hands on one for LFW! I had wayyy too much fun wearing it, getting some serious side eyes from passers-by on the tube (proof an outfit slaps) and somehow ending up in British Vogue?!

Izzy: Channeling my inner baby girl bunny vibe was on the cards this London Fashion Week and there was no way this bally wouldn’t make the cut. After gagging over the garment chronically online I did the deed and my bank account said goodbye to my hard-working p’s. It was worth it just to be in British Vogue tho haha!

MELLER LAILA GOLD GREEN, NEMY AWAKENINGS FESTIVAL COLLAB, HAKIM GOLD YELLOW, KARAM GOLD OLIVE

Lorna: Meller is the mother of all sunnies, after losing a fair few pairs throughout festival season (including my ride-or-die Rasul’s that slipped off my head into Hackney Wick canal *cry*) my collection was in dire need of replenishing so big up Meller for sorting me out with some new styles for winter *gets onto knees and worships*.

Izzy: I will forever stan Meller and the seemless designs they continue to produce, the materials used and pure perfection and exactly what you NEED from a pair of sunnies. For me, sunnies are an all year occasion so having these in my bag for the upcoming nights will help distract people from my dark circles (eeek a girl needs more sleep).

DUNELM – TEDDY DUVET COVER & PILLOW CASE SET

Lorna: I can’t stress this enough, if you struggle getting out of bed in the morning BEWARE of buying these sheets bc they’re dangerously comfy. After a summer of non-stop raving I plan on spending the next few months recovering in them swapping between playing on the switch and watching Interstellar for the millionth time with a cuppa tea.

NINTENDOSTARDEW VALLEY

Izzy: Cute gamer girls unite as the cosy game season has started! You know what that means? Put the kettle on and black out your calendar for the next few weeks… you may be unreachable while playing this farming game #guilty! From fishing to foraging to finding a in-game soul mate, this switch game is going to be your go-to relax and unwind excitement as the winter season hits.

Lorna: I blame Iz for restarting my hyper-fixation with Stardew Valley! After spending far too many hours playing this on my bf Ed’s PlayStation a few months back, he treated me to the Switch version so I can play it 24/7 (and stop hogging his console lmao), I’ve done f*ck all but farm for the past few days.

NAMED COLLECTIVECAMO ZIP HOODIE

Lorna: This Named Collective jumper carried me through festival season, light and cosy enough to transition from a sweaty crowd into the nippy evening air between stages, it’s been everywhere from the Khapha Bus at Noisily to backstage at Brunch Electronik (and now it’ll be keeping me warm – and looking sick – at all the raves I’ll be frequenting this winter).

TRU FRUWHITE & DARK CHOCOLATE COVERED RASPBERRIES & WHITE & MILK CHOCOLATE COVERED STRAWBERRIES

Lorna:
These are so good they’re frankly UNGODLY, words won’t do them justice so all I’ll say is I’ve had to fight every urge in my body not to scran an entire pack of these in one go and if I only had a fiver left in my account this is what I’d buy.

SAINS PATRIE & SAILOR JERRY – VESTHOODIE & JOGGERS

Izzy: You really can’t go wrong with a classic white tank top. Wear it as a base layer, around the house or style it up with some funky accessories for a night at the club. The material is super lightweight and airy which is perfect for all elements of life. Expand the wear by transitioning the tank between styles, every day a new style with the same tank!

Lorna: I’m currently battling the winter demons that enter my head when the weather turns cold and a cosy tracksuit definitely helps take the edge off when I’m holed up at home (as for when I do leave the house, it’ll be to sport this set in the boss man’s shop buying long skins and oat milk at 1AM lmao).

SCRT® – THE SUBSTANCE T-SHIRT

Izzy: If you have been to check out the latest cult film The Substance and our mega-fans like us then this T-Shirt is gonna be your new statement piece (wink wink to SCRT if you wanna gift us a tee or two). Including two eye-catching graphics on the back and front you can be a Substance Stan through & through.

Lorna: This film f*cked me up! If Margaret Qualley’s in a movie, you know it’s gonna slap and let me tell you, the director Coralie Fargeat captured female rage and misogyny perfectly. The Substance stands for everything wrong with the way women are treated in this world and SCRT’s t-shirt is a statement of that, which the feminist in me is gagging to wear.

LVISSWATER-BASED LUBE

Lorna: I f*ck with LVISS HARD (pun intended). Honestly, It’s the fanciest lube I’ve ever owned coming in a lush glass bottle, it’s light weight and water-based meaning there’s no impact on your pussy’s PH (well worth spending a few extra P’s on).

Izzy: I love getting slippy under the sheets but why not make it a little fancy? That’s exactly what LVISS mission was and they fully succeeded. Water-based and full of life this gel won’t be leaving my bedside while my inner freak comes out… only some of you will know 😉

MOJUHEALTH SHOTS

Lorna: I’ve been working on my gut health harmony before the seasonal depression hits (a hack I learned recently for anyone who suffers from mental health declines during the colder months). Moju’s ginger shots have been a lifesaver over summer, helping with microbes and boosting immunity amongst other things, they’re ideal for treating the digestive and nervous systems for a balanced mind and body so I’ll be keeping up my ‘sanity’ shots over the coming months.

Izzy: Man do we need a pick me up most mornings (especially as London is getting cold and dark now) – that’s why it’s such a blessing having these bad boys in the fridge. They come in loads of flavours so if you are like me and aren’t a fan of ginger then defo try the mango and berry ones!

JANSPORT DRIVER 8

Izzy: If you are constantly on the move and have to lug around a load of stuff then defo invest in this bag! Although it is a little more on the sepnny side it will be worth it when you feel how lightweight and handy it is. This saved my life before fashion week when I was carting around garments so if any stylists are reading this then hint hint…

ROKITVINTAGE GARMS

Lorna: Rokit has really fallen back onto my radar recently after reeling me in with some gag-worthy garms, gen-z friendly content and kindly letting me borrow a few jackets for fashion week (which didn’t make it back to the warehouse but did dent my bank account). They’re one of a handful of vintage brands keeping their prices reasonable enough for people to shop sustainably (unlike others I’ve come across who charge £100+ for a paid of bobbled adidas tracksuit bottoms you could find in a charity shop cough brand-that-starts-with-vintage-and-ends-with-a-word-that-sounds-like-treads cough) and I rate that.

RUDE HEALTHOAT MILK & GRANOLA

Lorna: I’m sh*t at feeding myself in the mornings and these bits have sorted me right out. We go through oat milk faster than water at Broke HQ (aka, me, Izzy & Elle’s flat) and with teas on tap keeping us ticking it was about time we found an oat milk that isn’t filled with crap that gives us stomach cramps (I’m looking at you Oatly), so when the lovely team at Rude Health dropped these through our door we found the cure and our new favourite oat milk (it’s also creamy AF!)!

JUNOBAMBOO WATER

Lorna: After a summer of heavy raving, my body was desperately in need of some detoxing and with bamboo being a holistic remedy for centuries to heal the body, calm the mind and ward off stress, when Juno found their way into our fridge I figured it was right up my street. They’re a sustainable brand partnering with 1% for the Planet (each Juno helps tackling the earth’s most pressing environmental issues) and their water comes in metal recyclable cans which are a huge bonus bc F*CK single-use plastic.

Izzy: Spice up your average canned water and grab your hands on this Bamboo twist. It’s not just about the great taste though – Bamboo is super rich in vitamins and essential minerals, including niacin, vitamin A, vitamin B6, and vitamin E, which is the body’s most potent antioxidant.

A2D2 A2D2 STREAM

Lorna: This baby connects record players to speakers so you can blast old school tunes through a more high tech sound system than most turn tables come with and we’ve been having a blast with it (big apologies to our neighbours).

STRONG ROOT’S FROZEN FOOD

Lorna: I’ve basically been living off Strong Root’s chips, cauliflower hash browns and spinach & pumpkin burgers over summer, they’ve made going veggie so easy and I’ve used them to pad out meals when money ran low more times than I can count. I’ve also been on a mission to take more care of my body (gotta balance out three months of festivals somehow) and as someone who hates cooking these have been the ultimate easy addition to my girl dinners.

Izzy: I was a huge fan of the crinkle fries and ngl they were the first bag to be finished with our easy air fryer. They really took me back to my childhood with food nostalgia. The sweet potato fries are also yummy as hell, if you come over for dinner at ours then you know what we are gonna be serving (other than fire looks).
