Tentendo and Annalisa Fernandez effortlessly demonstrate their artistic chemistry in their new EP “Morning Light.” This release is a tapestry of soulful and funk-infused euphoria that matures beautifully as the project unfolds. Departing from their familiar sounds, Tentendo, recognized for electronic house vibes in “Player One,” paints a vivid sonic shift, likening the EP’s essence to the warm hues of a sunset.
The intention is clear—to uplift, inspire dance, and grant freedom to listeners. While the songs stem from personal experiences, the duo aims for a universal connection, which shouldn’t be too difficult considering the two artists are in a relationship as well as a musical collaboration.
Speaking on working with Tentendo, vocalist Annalisa Fernandez states: “Caleb is definitely a big inspiration, always. I think we bring out the best in each other and we both want each other to shine for all the world to see. We wanted to experiment with that golden era of disco and make something that people could roller-skate and dance to.”
Not just an adorable musical duo, there’s some real musical classiness to what they do. The first track “Find My Way” entrances with its fusion of soulful and dreamy tones, underpinned by rhythmic basslines. “Morning Light” introduces disco influences without compromising its soulful essence. This departure from electronic roots offers a glimpse into Tentendo’s growth, emphasizing themes of unity and personal evolution nurtured within the comfort of home.
“Shining” unfolds with lush strings, harmonies, and funk-inflected basslines, conjuring images of sun-drenched relaxation. The EP embodies both musical and romantic synergy between the artists, culminating in the finale, “Give It Up.” This track reverberates with higher-tempo garage-electronic vibes, showcasing Tentendo’s distinct production style. “Morning Light” isn’t just a departure; it’s a radiant testament to their creative synchrony.
