Top Rags: Three Utility Brands You Need To Know

ARMAREX

In the dynamic world of fashion, trends come and go, but one style that continues to remain in the spotlight is utility fashion. The intersection of fashion and function is not a new concept, but its importance has surged in modern design philosophies. Rooted in practicality, defining features such as adaptability, comfort and durability have become just as crucial as the aesthetic appeal of a garment.

This shift towards functional fashion is evident in how designers are seamlessly integrating utility into their creations. A rising brand that truly embodies this trend is ARMAREX, offering everyday wear infused with added utility and functionality. What sets ARMAREX apart from other brands is its blend of versatility and unique aesthetic appeal.

The brand seamlessly combines practical functionality with distinctive design elements through the use of smart textiles and athleisure clothing. The result is pieces that are both stylish and adaptable for everyday wear. Their initial releases, the Team Tee and Topo Beanie, are what brought my attention and sparked my interest in the brand, with their originality and effortless blend of fashion and function.

These pieces paved the way for their standout Two-Tone Puffer Vests. The utility-focused vest is constructed from durable, water-resistant ripstop nylon and features six storage pockets, YKK hardware, warm polyester padding, and oversized armholes for enhanced mobility and versatile styling.

ARMAREX has also  been working on an exciting new release set for July 28th. This drop will feature the new Tri Sling Bag, available in Onyx and Storm Grey. So make sure you set a reminder

Kroen

Since its launch in December 2021, Kroen has become a brand to watch, consistently elevating its style with each new release. Founders Rory Fulla and Daniel Stoica have firmly established Kroen as a multifaceted brand delivering premium Sportswear and Lifestyle Garments with each drop being more anticipated than the last.

With creative and engaging promo videos paired with their distinctive choice of artwork, it’s no surprise the brand is solidifying their position as having some of the best garms available this summer.

Starting out with their high-GSM basic tracksuits and evolving to their unique and vibrant graphic tees, Kroen has managed to continually raise the bar with each release.

A particular standout piece from their collection is the grey and blue Morpho set, sporting over 60 panels highlighting the team’s dedication to detail and craftsmanship. With their first independent pop-up store in Hoxton a massive success a few weeks back, stocks are now limited on their website. Whatever you need, Kroen has you covered—just be sure to cop fast.

Mutimer

From a humble bedroom in Melbourne to quickly making a name for itself with their innovative designs, Mutimer has captured the fashion world’s attention since its inception in 2019. This Moorabbin-based label has not only amassed over 100,000 followers and nearly two million likes but also firmly established themselves as a brand to watch at the moment .

Jasper Mutimer, the visionary behind the brand, started Mutimer as a creative outlet while studying at university. He describes his creations as “refined streetwear,” a blend of sophistication and urban edge that seamlessly transitions from casual settings to upscale environments. The brand’s mantra, “From us to the world,” encapsulates its mission to transcend local boundaries and resonate globally.

One of Mutimer’s standout features is its innovative approach to design. Jasper’s commitment to pushing boundaries is evident in unique pieces like the heat-reactive knit that changes colour with temperature variations, the iconic aged heavy wash brown leather jacket but also my personal favourite cowhide belt and panelled waterproof jacket . These cutting-edge designs reflect the brand’s ethos of artistic ingenuity, whilst also showing inherent functionality and style.
