Bronx-bred Alt Rnb Artist Jessa Releases New Single “I Can’t Stop Crying”

Jessa, a 25-year-old and Peekskill born, Bronx-bred singer-songwriter who specialises in promising experimental R&B, has released her cathartic track “I Can’t Stop Crying.” It is the young diva’s most candid offering to date, detailing a destructive relationship that forced her to sink into a spell of despair, finally terminating in being rejected. Via her profoundly honest poetry, she takes listeners on her healing journey, reflecting the real essence of modern R&B as she bares her soulful achings throughout her silky smooth voice and sensuous melodies.

The singer has spent her time studying, developing, and pursuing a desire she has had since she was a child. Her first recollection of knowing this was the route she would choose dates back to the age of four when she begged her grandfather to construct her a purple and blue stage in the basement of her childhood home so she could practise acting. Her father worked in music management and was instrumental in breaking Alicia Keys, thus R&B was a big part of her childhood. She debuted her debut track, “Want Me,” in 2016, and has since produced a slew of singles that demonstrate her growth and evolution as an artist as she honed down on her distinct sound.

Her heartbreak-anthems “No Better” and “Regular,” in which she exhibits her sensuous, deep vocal powers and aural range as she merges elements of hip hop and current R&B, are fan favourites.

The new track begins with Jessa’s terrible, real-time breakup feelings, and as the song unfolds, fans can feel her agony transform into strength as she acquires a newfound perspective on the failed relationship. Jxck and Invisible Will create a sound that is familiar yet youthful, blending elements of spirit chord progressions, bombastic low-end of hip-hop, and halftime percussion and foley of R&B that lay the best foundation as she reflects on the hurt she has endured in order to be able to share her truth with the world.

When speaking on the inspiration behind “I Can’t Stop Crying,” Jessa explained, “I began recording this song sitting in my exes’ home studio. It wasn’t even that deep at that moment, but looking back, it’s pretty telling that even when we were together we wrote sad music. People are ashamed to say they’ve been dumped, but being dumped was one of the best things that could have happened to me.”
