Prepare to be blown away by the sensational sounds of Mel 4Ever with the latest thrilling track, “Big League Chew,” featuring New York City’s very own it-girl, Linux, and the multi-talented DJ, music producer, and artist from Athens, BABYNYMPH, known for her collaborations with the likes of SOPHIE and Chase Icon.
Brace yourself for this bombastic EDM pop anthem that started as a lighthearted tribute to a unique aspect of Mel’s journey.
Describing the inspiration behind “Big League Chew,” Mel shares, “I knew this had to be a song written and performed by trans women. It’s like the trans girl equivalent of ‘Bang Bang.’ One day, while chilling on the couch with my roommate, a part of my package was peeking out of my underwear. We burst into laughter, and she casually remarked, ‘It looks like Big League Chew.’ As soon as those words hit my ears, lyrics started flowing. It was an instant connection. This song is all about embracing our trans identities and celebrating the parts of our bodies that may not always bring us joy. But at its core, it’s a fun track. Injecting humour was an essential ingredient.”
Co-produced by the talented duo Jack Hoffman and BABYNYMPH, “Big League Chew” showcases Mel’s vision brought to life. Speaking about collaborating with the dynamic trio, Mel enthuses, “BABYNYMPH brought the vibrant energy of Athens’ club scene that I was searching for. She’s an icon. We had a conversation about the meaning behind my ballsack in the lyrics, and it led to us joking about self-castration and other playful yet provocative themes. It’s all in good humour, but it also carries a deeper meaning… LOL. Linux is a true artistic genius. Everything she touches turns to gold. She injected the track with the Nicki Minaj energy it needed. With her punchy lyrics and unmistakable voice, she absolutely nailed it. She’s THE It girl of downtown New York.”
Mel 4Ever is gearing up to release her sophomore EP this August, promising even more surprises. She describes this new chapter as “the dawn of a new era in pop music… It’s a fusion of trans rage and unwavering power. It’s my personal introduction to the industry.” Get ready to be enthralled by Mel’s unique brand of trans-girl pop as she continues to break boundaries and redefine the future of music. Stay tuned for what promises to be an unforgettable musical journey.
